Atlantic City Police Announce Arrest In Stabbing Of Philly Man On Boardwalk

A stabbing took place on the Boardwalk at Atlantic City at 2:39 AM.August 6, 2023. When police arrived, they found a 27 year old man from Philadelphia who was stabbed on the 1400 block of the  Boardwalk. . After medics treated him and stabilized him, the man was rushed to AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center, City Division, with serious but non-life-threatening injuries. Police declared the area a crime scene.

They tracked the Jamaal Campbell to  North Carolina and Pacific Avenues. Campbell was identified as the suspect and taken into custody without incident.  Police used surveillance technology to follow Campbell after the stabbing.

 

 

While police were trying to deal with the crime scene and medics were trying to do their work, a woman arrived on scene and refused to allow emergency workers to do their jobs. Officer arrested her and she was identified as Dymond Wayne. During the melee, she allegedly   spit on an officer, and resisted arrest. While being transported to the Clayton G. Graham Public Safety Building, Wayne repeatedly kicked the inside of the patrol car causing damage.

 

 

Campbell, of Atlantic City was arrested and charged with Attempted murder, aggravated assault (two counts), unlawful possession of a weapon, and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose. Campbell was remanded to the Atlantic County Justice Facility.
Dymond Wayne, 18, of Atlantic City. was charged with: Aggravated assault on a police officer, resisting arrest, obstruction of justice, and criminal mischief.
