Male Arrested For Sex Assaults On Women in South Philly Area

Dequan Jacobs lived close to the area where he prowled, police said. He would get on his green bicycle and ride around South Philly and center city. He was looking for women to assault. When he would find someone he was attracted to, he would make his move. That means riding up behind them and allegedly grabbing their buttocks, then riding off to do it again.
The attacks came in the area of South Philadelphia and center city, police said. The was arrested near 25th and Reed Streets, when detectives were in the area looking for video of him. He actually rode by on his bicycle and rad arrested. They kind of knew who they were looking for when on victim took a snapshot of him riding away, and his bike.
Police want to know if there are any other females that have been the victim of a similar attack and have not yet come forward. They are aware of the following incidents:
17th District- Indecent Assault
On Sunday, August 6, 2023, at 5:00 A.M., a female victim was walking on the 1700 block of South Broad Street. The offender was riding a bicycle, rode up behind the victim and grabbed her buttocks and rode of on a bike.
3rd District-Indecent Assault
On Sunday, August 6, 2023, at 10:25 A.M., a female victim was walking on the 1700 block of South Broad Street, the offender was riding on a bicycle, rode up behind her and grabbed her right buttocks and rode off on a green bike.
3rd District-Indecent Assault
On Sunday, August 6, 2023, at 6:20 P.M., a female victim was walking down the street on the 1900 block of East Passyunk Avenue when she observed the offender riding on bicycle on the sidewalk. The offender rode past her and groped her from behind in the back region under her dress. The offender fled on the bike
17th District – Indecent Assault
On Monday, August 7, 2023, at 8:55 A.M., a female victim was facing southbound on the 1400 block of South 22nd Street, she was groped by the male offender. The offender was riding a bicycle on the sidewalk also going southbound on 22nd Street. The complainant stated the offender grabbed her left buttock and continued southbound.
9th District- Indecent Assault
On Monday, August 7, 2023, at 10:30 A.M., a female victim was walking on the 2100 block of Pine Street with a child when the offender came up from behind her and grabbed her buttocks while riding his bicycle. The offender then turned around, looked at the complainant and put on his sunglasses, then rode his bike north on 21st Street.
18th District- Indecent Assault
On Monday, August 7, 2023, at 3:30 P.M., a female victim was walking on the 2900 block of Walnut Street when a male on a bike rode past her and grabbed her buttocks. Offender:
9th District- Indecent Assault
On Monday, August 7, 2023, at 3:35 P.M., a female victim was walking eastbound on the 2300 block of Walnut Street when an unknown male passed her on a bicycle and grabbed her buttocks.
