Regional Search For Missing Woman
Denice Smith, 51, of Woodland Twp. New Jersey has been missing for almost a full week. The New Jersey State Police are searching for her. Her family is searching for her. Police search dogs have lost her scent near a road in the New Jersey Pine Barrens, where she is from.
Her daughter, Amoreena Marlin is distraught that something happened to her mother. “She suffered a brain injury and has the capacity of a five year old”, Marlin said. She is worried that someone picked up her mother and dumped her somewhere. She did have family in Pennsylvania specifically, in Bucks County.
Denice Smith does not do drugs, is not homeless and had family that loves and cares for her. She was last seen wearing grey sweatpants and top.
According to Marlin, she has disappeared before but was always found near a road. This time it is different. “For whatever reason, the police did not issue a Silver Alert for her. The family and police have checked homeless shelters and are working on looking in other areas.
“The police searched the Pine Barrens and she is not there, we have checked also”, Martin said. Her photo is attached to this article. Should anyone see someone that resembles her, you are asked to call 911.
