Jail Time In Fatal DUI Wreck In Philly
Dylan Urbanowski should not have been allowed out on the street during the night of June 1, 2020. With Black Lives Matter riots going on, a citywide curfew was in effect. He should have been home. Instead, he was out, driving drunk, along Grant Avenue , His car was filled with passengers, and Urbanowski was speeding. He hit another car, killing two of his passengers, Mike Jacoby and Sebasian Plummer. None of the people in the cars should have been out due to the curfew.
Urbanowski was under age. He was at a graduation party at the home of Kimberly Eddis, of nearby Laramie Road. When police found out, they arrested and charged Eddis with Involuntary manslaughter and related offenses. She was acquitted of all charges with the exception of furnishing alcohol to minors. Urbanowski testified in her trial before he was sentenced, last week.
He admitted to drinking at her home but also said that she never allowed underage drinking in her house. He will do three to six years in prison. Eddis will be sentenced in January, she is expected to get probation.

Several lawyers have engaged a civil lawsuit against Urbanowski and Eddis.They failed to achieve any substantial settlement due to poor insurance limits. and the loss of life. Some have failed to investigate or take advantage of information that could have either gotten the case settle faster or for more money.
The accident has changed the lives of five families.
