Phila Male Asks Warrington Police To Take Him To Jail After Theft

It was 3:29 AM on December 23, 2023 when police in Warrington wee responding to a 911 hang up call. in the area of a Sunoco gas station on Easton Road. when they arrived, they were approached by a complainant who told officers that a black male tried to get into a car, that was in the lot. A passenger was inside the car at the time. The male was scared off when the passenger yelled.
As other officers arrived, they found Tashaun Westmoreland walking at a nearby WAWA . When they approached him, Westmoreland is alleged to have told police that he needed to go to jail because he stole a set of keys and $3.37 worth of Tobacco products from the Sunoco station.
Westmoreland was taken into custody and charged with retail theft and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. He was processed and released by police.
