Arrest Made In Bensalem Fatal Hit and Run Of A Child

July 6 2023, some children were on Street Road, about 10:15 PM near the Route 1 overpass. They had been at that location for a few minutes, before one of them, a 14 year old boy was struck by a car. . That driver stopped, got out then got back into his vehicle and drove away, towards Feasterville. That driver, police said was James Shulski of Trevose was arrested yesterday and charged with Leaving the scene and related offenses, Bensalem Police said. The boy died in spite of life saving measures , police said.

Police quickly looked at the camera system in the township and found the striking car was a Honda Accord. Detectives were able to track that vehicle and it also tripped a license plate reader, which gave officers and address on Helen Street in Trevose.. When they went to that address, they found the Honda with damage consistent of hitting a pedestrian.

Police said when they went to talk with Shulski, he refused to speak with them. Police then impounded the car and started to investigate further. This included getting a search warrant for Shulski’s cell phone records. That information showed he was in the vicinity of the accident scene when the pedestrian was hit.

Shulski turned himself in to police. He was processed yesterday and bail was set at $100,000 /10 percent by District Justice Joseph Falcone. Family members immediately paid his bail and he was released.
