Bristol Borough Boat Launch Closed Due To Haz-Mat
by Alex Lloyd Gross
People walking in the area of the Bristol Borough Boat Launch may be wondering what is going on with all of the fire department activity. The answer is a boat, which has been left in a boat skip for an extended time is leaking fluid into the Delaware River.
That has caused the boat ramp to be closed to pedestrians and people who wanted to dock boats there are being diverted elsewhere. Borough Fire Chief AJ. DeAngelis said the boat is listing to one side. They are putting boats in the water to determine the extent of the spill.
The Coast Guard has been advised. of the matter. Residents who frequent the boat launch said that the boat is stripped and has been there over a month. Police will investigate to see if it has been abandoned or if it is stolen.
