Burlington Male Will Serve Up to 12 years In Prison For Trying To Hook Up With Bensalem “Teen”

When looking to chat with someone online about sex, it’s wise to not chat up people under 18.,Especially if you are an adult.. Steven Boutte, 53, of Burlington, N.J learned that the hard way when he went online in 2022 and saw a “13-year-old girl” . He started to chat with her. Police said that Boutte was told by the girl multiple times that she was 13 years old. Instead of ending the conversation, he pressed on, police said.

He made arrangements to meet with her for sex in Bensalem ..His first meeting, was on Dec. 13, 2022, in Bensalem Township, but that was canceled. He arranged a second meeting three days later. In between the meeting dates, Boutte drove to the location and texted the juvenile., police said.

On December 16, 2022, he was all set for his meeting. He drove to Bensalem in a vehicle . He had already put the rear seats down in the car, police said.. Instead of meeting a 13-year-old, he met detectives with the Bensalem Police Department.

Boutte was convicted in December of criminal attempt to commit involuntary deviate sexual intercourse with a child, criminal attempt to commit statutory sexual assault, unlawful contact with a minor, and related charges. On Wednesday, he appeared before Common Pleas Judge Jeffrey L. Finley and was sentenced to six to 12 years in state prison. He was also ordered to undergo an assessment by the Sex Offender Assessment Board.
