Philadelphia Police Give Updates On Recent Shootings

Philadelphia Police have given some details on recent shootings that happened in the city.

On February 12, 2024, at 6:37 PM officers were called to the 4300 block of Bermuda Street. There was a report of a person with a gun. When they got there, they found a male shot multiple times inside a parked Kia. Police transported the victim to Temple University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 11:41 p.m.  He was identified as Anthony Brown from Norwood, Pennsylvania. No arrests have been made.

On February 12,2024, A senior citizen was shot once in the head. on the 2400 block of North 26th Street at 11:45 AM. No motive was given for the shooting. The man, 76 year old Clerger Exilhomme  from the 2800 block of North 27th Street. Was pronounced at the scene by medics. There have been no arrests.

A juvenile was arrested for firing a gun near the Temple University Campus. on February 10,2024. It was about 5:00 PM when shots rang out at Broad Street near Cecil B. Moore Ave. No one was shot but people did panic when they heard the shot.

On Saturday evening, officers were monitoring large groups of juveniles who gathered in the area when officers received reports of gunfire. The suspect, who was described as wearing a camouflage jacket and brown sweatpants, fled the scene. PPD, in collaboration with TUPD and SEPTA Police, launched a joint investigation that led to the identification of the suspect.

On February 13, 2024, Philadelphia Police executed a search warrant on the 2700 block of N. Hancock Street. A stolen firearm believed to be the weapon used in the shooting was recovered. The juvenile suspect was also located at the residence and was subsequently arrested.

The juvenile suspect has been charged with Theft by Unlawful Taking, Receiving Stolen Property, and Violation of the Uniform Firearms Act (VUFA). No further information regarding the suspect’s identity will be released due to their juvenile status.
