A thief that wants a car badly enough is going to steal that car. Professional car thieves can strip a car in about one hour. They will steal a car and then park it some where out of the way. They are checking to see if the car has an air tag or Lojack on it. If the car is still there, it goes into the garage to be stripped. Those kinds of thefts are able to be stopped by luck. For most other thefts, deterrents like secured vehicle and wheel locks are what is needed to keep a car thief away.

In Philadelphia a new program has been launched for owners of 2012-2022 Hyundai or Kia vehicles. Owners that live in the city can go to any one of the 21 different police districts and get a free wheel lock. To get yours, you must:

  • Must be a resident of Philadelphia
  • Be the registered owner of a 2012-2022 Hyundai or Kia vehicle
  • Provide a valid driver’s license and vehicle registration as proof of ownership
  • Sign a waiver

This is valid while supplies last. Car owners of the cars can get them 24/7 .
