Three Year Old Child Dies After Playing With A Gun In Germantown

A three year old female was shot Saturday afternoon on the 500 blockof East Chelten Ave. The child, Kayden Barnes was rushed to Einstein Hospital by a private vehicle. She was later airlifted to St. Christopher’s Hospital For Children.
The shooting happened at 1:15 PM AM. No one has been arrested. One male was taken in for questioning but was later released. Police said charges are not expected to be filed. Police investigated the crime scene and the transporting vehicle as an additional crime scene.
Barnes was shot one time in her right eye. She was pronounced at 2:31 AM today. A weapon was recovered, police said. Police confirmed that the shooting was self inflicted.
