Bensalem Police and Firefighters were very busy tonight dealing with two different, serious crashes, within a mile of each other.

The first was on Knights Road near the city limits. About 6:30PM A motorcycle driver apparently traveling at high speed, from witnesses, lost control of his bike and went flying. He landed about 25 feet away from his bike, on Knights Road. The driver did not hit any other vehicles . He sustained serious injuries, officials said.

As police were dealing with that crash, three vehicles collided on the 2400 block of Knights Road, One of them flipped onto it’s side. That driver was transported by medics. Another vehicle with two occupants sustained disabling damage and the driver had to be cut from the wreckage. A third vehicle was involved in this as well.

One witness said that the vehicle that flipped possibly encroached in the travel lane of oncoming traffic on Street Road. Police on scene had Street Road closed in both directions from Knights to Mechanicsville Road.
