Mail Theft In Newtown, Bucks County

Yesterday, police in Newtown spotted a black Mercedes Benz that was wanted for stealing mail in Montgomery County. As police tried to stop the car, the driver fled and went over the Scudders Falls Bridge. While the car was over the bridge, the driver discarded several pieces of mail.

Police retrieved that mail and have been in contact with the people who mailed it. They got the info from the return address. Police said that the mail was stolen from the Woods of Saxony development area. . Anyone in the area who placed a personal check in their mailbox on July 11, 2024 should monitor their accounts.

Police advise against mailing checks to pay bills unless you take them right to the post offi9ce or hand it to a mail carrier. Stolen checks get changed and cashed for more money and different payee’s than intended.
