Police: Out Of Towners Responsible For Hitting Police Cars In Frankford Car Meet

Two males, one from Hamilton New Jersey and he other from West Norriton were arrested over the past weekend after their antic at an unsanctioned car meet could hav gotten someone injured or killed. It was 19-year-old male, identified as Chase Possert of Hamilton, NJ.who allegedly was doing burnouts and smashed into a police car at the intersection of Torresdale and Adams . as the office was trying to break up the meet.

Possert had four 17 year old passengers in his car at the time, police said. As Possert was being taken into9 custody, his passengers were cut lose with citations, police said. He will face charges of Criminal Mischief (M2), Institutional Vandalism (M2), Resisting Arrest (M2), Fleeing Police (M2), Reckless Driving (M3), and Careless Driving (S). Poliice were able to arrest Possert when his vehicle got stuck in heavy traffic.

Police said the incident happened about 9:45 PM August 10,2024. Also arrested during this car meet up was David Wyche of West Norriton, PA was arrested and charged with Recklessly Endangering Another Person (REAP) (M2), Disorderly Conduct-Hazard (S), and Reckless Driving (S). Police saw him drag racing.

Additionally, a patrol vehicle from the 26th District sustained damage when an unknown individual threw a bottle of tequila at the vehicle, striking the hood and cracking the windshield.
