A would be robber got shot for his efforts after him and a friend attempted to pull and armed robbery in Kensington overnight, police said. The robber , now in custody is 16 years old.

The incident happened last night on the 2200 block of Emerald as the victim was walking down the street, minding his own business. He was legally allowed to carry a gun and he was armed, police said. At 11:03 PM he was approached by two males.

They pushed something into his back, telling him that it was a gun. They also told him to give them his keys, wallet and anything else of value. The male had no idea of what was being pointed and pushed into his back. In reality, it was a toy gun.

So the man starts to take out his valuables and then pulls his gun and turns around, shooting the 16 year old one time in the leg. The thief drops the goods and both robbers take off running. The victim is able to recover his things and cops get the robber, but not his accomplice. They are looking for a male who wore a dark colored sweatshirt.
