Check Washer Arrested In Perkasie

Erin Reph from Catasaqua Pa is in trouble with the police. She is charged with theft and forgery, police said. Police said she allegedly cashed a fraudulent check. According to court records, Reph allegedly got possession of a check that was placed in the US Mail. That check was to pay for a bill to LL Bean.

The payee and amount was changed to Reph’s name and the amount was $1208.76. Police said that Reph went to a Penn Community Bank branch on N 4th Street in Perkasie and then presented her id to the teller and cashed the check. Security cameras captured Reph in the bank doing this transaction, police said. She also presented her id to the teller when cashing the check.

The victim never authorized Reph to have the funds Reph turned herself in October 20,2024 and was released on $50,000 bail.

    She looks like a typical loser to avoid.

    Back a year or two ago, I had several ultility checks not getting to their proper destination.
    It was at the height of that mailbox theft thing going on.
    I simply noted them voided and contacted my bank to make them aware.
    Thank jeebus that the USPS finally put in a new mailbox that has a new style anti-theft slot.
