Fire Crews In Lower Southampton Prevent Fire From Ripping Through Townhomes

by Alex Lloyd Gross

A two alarm fire in Lower Southampton Twp. could have been much worse than it was. Crews were dispatched to Platt Place, off of Old Street Road, about 6:10 PM. When they arrived, they had heavy fire from the first floor and was extending into the rest of the dwelling.

According to Feasterville Fire Chief Christopher Cummings, the fire engulfed the three story townhome. A second alarm was qui9ckly called but those companies were not used. They were put in a staging area but quickly returned back to available status.

There were no injuries reported. The house was an end unit and fire could have quickly ran the length of the rest of the homes but it did not. According to the chief, the adjacent home had minimal smoke and water damage.

No injuries were reported and crews had the fire under control just before 5:30 PM. The cause is under investigation. An electric vehicle was in the garage at the time of the fire, officials said.

  1. I’ll just bet that the mentioned “electric vehicle” in the garage was the culprit.
Those chinese-made lithium/ion batteries are ticking time bombs, yet people seem to ignore the dangers.
There have been plenty of incidents, along with videos, showing garaged EV’s turing into firebombs.
And plenty of warning to park those crap vehicles OUTside the house.

That “EV” crap won’t ever replace good old gasoline vehicles.
LOL!….. in a hurry?…. need a full REcharge to get where you’re going?
Then expect to spend hours waiting for that “fill-up”.
    LOL!
