While a lot of attention is paid to the musicians, the show is nothing without the back up singers. Kayla Reeves is a veteran singer in this group, and she spoke about the up coming tour.
“I’ve been in TSO since 2010, so I’m coming upon 14 years.,”she said. When she was a child, she would go to see different holiday lights with her parents and the music of TSO would play . Reeves was 12 when she started a blues band. “They stumbled across one of my videos. They flew me out to Tampa, it’s a day I’ll never forget,, They hired me on the spot”, Reeves said. She was 17 years old.
This group has two units. Two bands. One handles the west coast and the other is the east. Kayla is in the east unit. “This year, we’re bringing back The Lost Christmas Eve. It’s been about 12 years since we’ve done this particular story,” Reeves said.
Kayla ,(when she is not on tour with TSO) also teaches singing. “I recently started The Kayla Reeves Institute Of Vocals”.

.This tour has Kayla doing two shows in a day at times. In Philly, there is an afternoon show and an evening one. ” You have to condition yourself, keep telling yourself it’s a marathon, not a sprint, so when I’m not singing I’m taking it easy, you really have to take care of your body,” Reeves said.
During the show, there are times when the crowd will sit and be quiet. Then there is the end, with fire, effects that encompass both ends of the arena. That is when the entire place will stand and be in shock and awe at what they just saw.

The band has special effects for their shows like moving catwalks, levitating platforms and Reeves and her crew of back singers have multiple costume changes. The singers are all very talented and have worked long and hard to get on this tour. Reeves can also play guitar.
“Early on founder Paul O’Neil approached us and asked us who can play guitar. My hand went up slowly.”, Reeves remembered. Now she has an acoustic spot in the show.
