Bucks County Woman Arrested For Self Checkout Shennanigans At Supermarket

When people use the self checkout at stores, they are expected to be honest. Usually, there is a worker there to help with any problems.

When Gail Brewi from Warwick went to Wegmans in Warrington, she had too many items in her cart for the self check out. The limit was under what she had. She had 48 items and was directed to leave the line and go to a regular cashier. She did and then went back to the self checkout.

She was told to move again but this time, she started to ring up her items. She is alleged to have pushed 19 items through the scanner, paid for them and left the store with everything she had selected.

At that time, she was stopped by store security and questioned. police were called and they said the dollar amount of the under ring was $159.63 in unpaid mechandise.

Brewi was charged with Retail theft and related offenses.
