by Alex Lloyd Gross

The Yardbirds are coming to the Sellersville Theater April 3,2025. According to founding member and drummer Jim McCarty, there will be a surprise or two at the show. No, Eric Clapton or Jimmy Page will not be joining the band, instead, McCarty will be spending some time away from the drum kit, telling stories about the band and their songs.

“We play for about 90 minutes or so, and I will be telling stories about the band, the songs, I’ll step back from the drums for a bit and have our harmonica player take over, he plays the drums too,” McCarty said. The band had a plethora of material to chose from. Sure most people want to hear the hits, like “Over Under Sideways Down” and “For Your Love”, but there are some people than want B sides.

“They will get that, tomorrow bight, ” McCarty said. Speaking of B Sides, last year, for record store day, the band released The Yardbirds Psycho Daisies – The Complete B-Sides – which is only available on vinyl. They have a new live album coming out later this year, which is a recording of some of their shows. It’s going to be called “Mind the Gap”.

At the show, the band had some merchandise for sale, sorry, no vinyl, “We did not bring any records, but maybe next tour, we should,” mused McCarty when asked. They will be selling his book, “Nobody told me” and you may also be able to get copies of his other book, “She Walks In Beauty”. This book deals in the paranormal, and mediums, said McCarty.

Some tickets are still available for the show.
