Bucks County Tour Of Honor Held Yesterday

The Bucks County Tour Of Honor is an annual event where veterans from several wars meet in Bensalem and they get a bus trip to Washington DC, They see the many different monuments erected in honor of fallen for specific wars. They stay a bit and pay homage to their fallen comrades. All branches of the service were represented.

They depart early in the morning, this year, there were three bus loads of people participating. They got a police escort there and back. Interstate 95 was closed for them to return back home, once they crossi9ng into Pennsylvania.

They were going to Parx East, on Street Road. This year about 125 people showed up to welcome them home. As the buses pulled up, they were given a heroes welcome and then brought into the dining room of the building. It was there that they were treated to a dinner of chicken and mashed potatoes and green beans.

Parx East is used as a betting parlor now, all of the slot machines and table games have long since been taken out . It has ramps to the dining areas which are a big help to those that use wheelchairs for mobility issues.
