
Bensalem Resident Arrested For Witness Intimidation

Edward Tharp, 52, of Bensalem was in court, in Warrington. He was facing charges of Terroristic Threats, Reckless Endangering Another Person, Simple Assault, and Harassment. Prior to this court date, he sent text messages to the victim, police said.
When police spoke with the victim at the courthouse, they informed the officer that Tharp allegedly sent text messages that read “I would never pull the trigger.” There was also a plea for the victim not to appear in court. He also sent a message referencing a possible four-year sentence, asking, “Do you want me to go to jail for four years?” All of took place on March 24, 2025.

Base on this new information Tharp was taken into custody June 9,2025 when he was advised of a warrant for his arrest. He did turn himself in and bail was set at $50,000 or 10 percent cash. He is charged with witness intimidation and related offenses.
