Firefighters in Bensalem Twp. were busy during the late afternoon yesterday. There were no injuries. They were called to a house fire, on the 2700 block of Colmar Avenue that was confined the rear of at least two properties. Urgent calls for PECO to cut power were made by authorities.

A large tree limb had fallen on some charged electrical wires, which authorities said surged into the homes. The tree limb was damaged in the recent storm, neighbors said. Once PECO shut off power, the tree branch could be removed and the incident was declared under control.

Several fire companies in Bensalem and the surrounding area were called to the scene or called to cover other firehouses, as their resources were committed to the fire.
