Warrington Police Charge Shoplifter A Year After Theft

by Alex Lloyd Gross

With technology today, more and more shoplifters are getting arrested months after their crime. Take Nahteef Darnel Williams, 34, from Philadelphia. It was back on April 26,2024, when Williams and a female partner entered the TJ Maxx on Main Street in Warrington. Police said the pair stole over $400.00 worth of merchandise.

The pair probably forgot about the theft and went on about their business weeks after it happened. Those weeks turned into months and over a year later, Williams was stopped by police in New Jersey. What Williams did not know is that police in Warrington were busy using security camera footage and other investigative techniques to identify him.

Police agencies work together. Before long, police had Williams information but they did not have Williams, so a warrant was issued. That stop by New Jersey State Police turned up the warrant. Williams sat in the Atlantic County jail until Bucks County Sheriff;s came for him.

He was arraigned and held on $50,000 bail/10 percent, which he could not post, so Williams got another ride to the Bucks County Prison, where he sits today, until his trial fir charges of retail theft.
