Male Under arrest For Kensington Road Rage Shooting

When two drivers got into a heated exchange on Friday morning on the 600 block of E. Indiana Street, At the intersection of E. and Indiana Streets, officers found a grey Nissan with bullet holes in it. The owner and driver were Eric Franklin who was at the scene when police arrived.

Police said the investigation showed that Franklin pulled out a pistol and fired a gun at the other driver, who also returned fire. When the bullets stopped flying, one person, a 27 year old female was shot in the abdomen. She was walking down the street and had nothing to do with the confrontation.

Police said she was taken to Temple Hospital in critical condition, police said. The othger car and driver was found on the 600 block of E. Tusculum Street. Both men were detained and transported to the Shooting Investigation Group (SIG) headquarters for further questioning.

Following the investigation, Eric Franklin was formally charged with two counts of Aggravated Assault and related offenses. The second male was not charged and was subsequently released.
