by Alex Lloyd Gross
Back on July 15, 2025 police in Warington responded to a crash at Easton Road and Titus Avenue. The striking vehicle fled from the scene. Police said the accident was not minor in fact, both cars were damaged. The striking car was a silver Honda.
Police found a silver Honda in the parking lot of a local motel. The front bumper was off and airbags had been deployed. The owner was David Thompson, from Niles Ohio. Police said that Thompson had trouble standing up and when he spoke his words were slurred.

He told police he did not remember any accident and when asked if he was driving he responded with “I cannot confirm or deny”. Police transported the other driver to the motel where he made a positive identification of Thompson as the other driver. The other driver sustained minor injuries, police said.

Police took Thompson into custody and he was charged this week with ACCIDENTS INVOLVING DEATH OR PERSONAL INJURY (M1) (75) 3802 (A1) DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF ALCOHOL OR A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE(M) (75) 3802 (B1) DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF ALCOHOL OR A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE (M) (75) 3802 (C) DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF ALCOHOL OR A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE (M) (75) 3322 VEHICLE TURNING LEFT (S) (75) 3736 (A) RECKLESS DRIVING
