Car Slams In Utility Pole In Hulmeville Borough

A vehicle traveling too fast down the 900 block of Bellevue was not able to be stopped in time by the driver and slammed into a utility pole. This crash happened just before 8:00 AM early today. The driver sustained serious but not life threatening injuries.
According to a witness, the car was going from Penndel towards Hulmeville Road, when another vehicle stopped for a school bus with it’s lights flashing. It was at that time the driver could not stop and veered into a utility pole. The pole sustained damage and will have to be replaced but it was still standing.
No other vehicle were involved and a bag of leaves left out for trash cushioned the impact to the pole somewhat. All of the airbags in the car went off. Traffic was shuttled around the crash scene.
