Polish Festival Held This Weekend In Central Bucks County

If you are looking for something to do this weekend, The Shrine of Czestochowa is having a Polish Festival and it always draws large crowds. Located on Ferry Road in New Britain Township, Bucks County, this has something for everyone.

At least 15 different food vendors can give you everything from chicken tenders to roast chicken, even more extravagant food and it’s all reasonably priced. You can eat under a tent or away from a tent, it’s up to you. Once you have eaten, you can check out the vendor alley.

Clothing, to handcrafted jewelry and even companies have booths set up to display their services. Looking at all of the things offered for sale can take up about 45 minutes of time. Some of the prices are firm, other sellers will negotiate. Bring cash as you can get a cash discount for some, plus it puts you in a stronger position to negotiate with those sellers who are flexible on their price.

The carnival area features games of chance. Some, like fishing are geared towards children and prizes are easy to win, but they are small. Others like the shoot the star game are more difficult. Should you be a good marksman, you will win and the prizes are larger.

As for rides, there are things that go fast and up in the air and there are rides that are slower. There is something for everyone. This is the 59th annual festival. There is a $15.00 admission. Ferry Road is packed with cars from about a mile from about noon until 2:00 PM, It’s best to go early and beat the traffic.
