Senior Citizen Killed By Vehicle In Mayfair Supermarket Parking Lot

A senior citizen, who police described as a woman in her 80’s was struck and killed by a car as she walked in the parking lot of the Shop Rite, located on the 6700 block of Frankford Avenue, police said. The striking vehicle did stay at the scene and the driver cooperated with police. The incident happened last night around 6:38 PM, police said.
After the crash happened, the vehicle did pull into a parking spot in the lot. Medics transported the woman to Jefferson Torresdale Hospital, whee she was pronounced dead at 7:22 PM. After the crash, police used shopping carts and store supplies to put up crime scene tape.
Police said the driver of the vehicle, a Nissan Murano was making a left turn in the parking lot, when the accident happened. There was no evidence that the vehicle was speeding.
