State Rep Joe Hogan Introduces Storm Water Rebate Bill
by Alex Lloyd Gross
State Representative Joe Hogan ( R-Bucks) has introduced a bill that many in his district ( and other areas around the commonwealth) will benefit from. It is a bill that will create a storm water rebate program.

This bill will allow a second-class township the option to create a rebate program to offset the cost of any storm water fee they charge to homeowners. Hogan got complaints from his constituents that this fee is becoming burdensome and in some cases, when you impose too high a tax or too many taxes on people, they have no alternative but to move.

Hogan’s legislation would not mandate the creation of a rebate program for second-class townships. Rather, each municipality would set its own conditions on qualification if they adopted such a program.

“Many school districts do this for the property taxes they levy, townships should have the authority to do the same with storm water fees. This is about making it more affordable to stay in the community you love,” said Hogan.
