Senator Frank Farry Holds Senior Expo In Lower Bucks County

State Senator Frank Farry hosted a senior expo yesterday at the Northampton Valley Country Club, which is on Richboro Road, in Northampton Twp. If you never went to a senior expo, it’s where a bunch of tables are set up in a room and different state agencies have literature and representatives to talk with older adults about what that agency has to offer. While it is geared towards older adults, the information there benefits everyone.
A lot of government agencies were there, from the Register Of Wills, to the Treasury De[pt. It was there that people can do a free check to see if they are owed money from the state. Closed bank accounts, checks that got lost in the mail, insurance payouts that were not collected and other accounts that were dormant. are just some examples of how cash accumulates in the treasurer’s office. When looking for funds, check on your parents and anyone else you know. You may be surprised.
Veterans affairs and assisted living facilities were on had to discuss what they could offer for those that may need it. Law enforcement agencies were on hand and they all had the same message. Don’t get scammed. It is heartbreaking to hear how a scammer duped someone out of their life savings.
1 There is NO Warrant for your arrest. Call the agency. The IRS goes not call you about a warrant for overdue tax bills and the tax collector will contact you by mail first. NO AGENCY ACCEPTS PAYMENT BY BITCOIN OR MONEY CARD. EVER. If the caller insists you must pay NOW and not to tell anyone, it is a scam. Do NOT send a shoe box full of cash to anyone.
2 Your grandchild has not been arrested. Call them. Call a relative. Do not pay any bail or bond with bitcoin and do not allow a stranger claiming to be with the authorities to come meet you to get cash. Call the police, they can check and you will see it’s a scam.
3 Microsoft will not call you to fix or tune up your computer. They gain access to your computer, steal your info and leave you high and dry. Hang up the phone or give the phone to your baby or pet. This will frustrate them and they will go on to someone else.
At the senior expo, people could get flu shots or get their blood pressure checked by professionals. Senator Farry was on hand to hear directly from his constituents. He told this senior expo once a year. At this years event, light refreshments were served.
