Over 5000 People Have Shown Civic Pride With Philambassador Program

by Alex Lloyd Gross

On April 29, 2025 the Philambassador program launched in Love Park. It was a way for people to celebrate their pride in where they live or work. This could be as simple as a positive social media post for the city or city event. You could also volunteer at an event. This is a great way to get people excited for 2026 and the events in the city.

I am so excited to hit this milestone with the Phambassadors program,” said Kathryn Ott Lovell, President & CEO of the Philadelphia Visitor Center Corporation. “Reaching our 5,000th Phambassador shows how much people want to represent Philadelphia and share their civic pride with the world. Philadelphians’ fierce love and devotion for their city is unmatched, and when the spotlight is on us in 2026, our Phambassadors will be ready to help Philly shine.”

Phambassadors will keep momentum strong with a series of appearances and activations across the city, including at several Parks on Tap locations in October, the Wingohocking Neighbors Day Partner Sign Up, East Falls Fall Festival, and a Happy Hour at Triple Bottom Brewing on October 30, where the first 25 attendees will receive a complimentary drink.

The second Pham Camp, held on September 27 at the Independence Visitor Center, sold out in under 72 hours following the success of the first Pham Camp earlier this summer. It welcomed 150 attendees for a hands-on day of community building, creative storytelling, and insider insights.

Anybody who is passionate about Philadelphia is invited to “Join the Pham”, take the Phambassador pledge, and help welcome the world in 2026. After signing the pledge, Phambassadors will be invited to attend a Pham Camp, a fun “bootcamp-like experience to prepare Phambassadors to represent their city. From there, Phambassadors are encouraged to “level up” and volunteer at events leading up to 2026 and throughout the semiquincentennial year.

  1. I do my part in the neighborhood to keep it from deteriorating….
I pick up the papers/trash/bottles that somehow land on my property, because the sloppy rental house people don’t care about the home they moved into.
I suspect some of them may even be illegals, and some of them have been evicted, thank god.
If your south American culture to just dump amd ignore your trash on the ground, play your music at loud volumes which annoy others – then you can go right back to the country you fled from!
because we don’t need or want that in our neighborhoods!
