Two Jenkintown Fortune Tellers Arrested After Bilking Victims Out Of $600,000 To Remove Curses

Gina Marie Marks, 52, of Huntingdon Valley, and Steve Nicklas, 40, of were arrested after police said they allegedly bilked a woman out of more than $600,00 in cash, jewelry, concert tickets and gift cards . The two were contacted by a woman who called “Jenkintown Psychic Visions,” on Old York Road. She wanted a phone reading. She spoke with Marks or Nicklas.
When she called, she was told that there was a powerful curse on her that had to be removed. From Sept. 23, 2022, to Aug. 31, 2023—Marks and Nicklas told the woman they needed payment and other items she had to remove the curse. Those items would be returned later. They never were.
Marks and Nicklas could not have foretold their own futures as they were soon arrested about a year later after a police investigation. That investigation found another victim that was threatened with bad curses if she did not pay the couple at least $18000.00. The two used Cash App or Zelle to get money from that victim. They allegedly also asked for photos that were increasingly personal, as well as made further unorthodox requests to satisfy rituals that would help her. This request even included getting the fortune tellers a Chanel purse, police said..
Nicklas and Marks were arrested Oct. 7, 2025, and charged with multiple felonies including Corrupt Organizations, Dealing in the Proceeds of Unlawful Activities, Theft by Unlawful Taking, Theft by Deception and Receiving Stolen Property, as well as Fortune Telling. They were arraigned on Oct. 7, 2025, before Magisterial District Judge Jodi L. Griffis, who set Marks’ bail at 10 percent of $50,000, and Nicklas’ bail at 10 percent of $25,000. Both defendants posted bail and were released.
