Road Rage Shooting On Middletown/Newtown Border

UPDATE 10:30PM POLICE CONFIRM A WOMAN WAS SHOT IN THE WRIST DURING A ROAD RAGE INCIDENT ON THE NEWTOWN BYPASS. SHE TRIED TO FLEE BY DRIVING INTO MIDDLETOWN TOWNSHIP, ONLY TO HAVE THE SUSPECT SHOOT AT HER AGAIN, ON SWIFT ROAD. THE SUSPECT WAS ARRESTED A SHORT TIME LATER. NO NAME OR CHARGES HAVE BEEN RELEASED YET.

HE WAS ARRESTED IN NEWTOWN BY PA STATE POLICE AND NEWTOWN TWP. POLICE. ONE GUN WAS RECOVERED, POLICE SAID.

One female was shot after two drivers were involved in a road rage altercation on the Newtown Bypass. One driver turned off of the bypass and went to the area of Swift Road in Middletown Township where one driver pulled a gun and shot the other driver, sources said.

They were taken to a local hospital, (presumably St.Mary’s) in unknown condition. The other driver drove off.

The area is dark and firetrucks were brought in to light the scene for police. No word on any arrests. Middletown and Newtown Twp. are working to determine whose jurisdiction the incident happened in, Sources say it could be a combined investigation.
