Woman Carjacked In Northeast Philly

by Alex Lloyd Gross

Last night about 8:30PM a woman parked her car on the 6800 block of Souder Street to visit a friend. She was getting food from her vehicle when police said she was approached by three black males, who surrounded her. They were wearing ski masks.

One was dark complected, police said and skinny. He grabbed her left arm and then started saying “key” repeatedly. The woman fearing for her safety, handed over her key fob and other keys. The three thieves then took her vehicle , a dark blue Honda Civic with a PA tag of MLF 3602.

Armed carjacking is also classified as a federal crime, with punishment being up to life in prison without parole, in addition to state charges. No arrests have been made as of press time.

  1. I notice quite a few vehicles parked along the streets in Mayfair with license tags on them being either from another state, or a paper temp tag. – and some having obviously fake “Dealer” temp tags.
And the drivers of these vehicles apparently live in the home where these are parked.
Notably, they are hispanic nationality judging from their speech.
So I think that something fishy is going on around here, and the police should run these suspicious tags for proper validity.
If you LIVE here in Philly, why have Florida, New York, Michigan, Illinois, etc., tags on your vehicle?
Why have paper temp tags with NO state name at all on them?

  2. Another piece of advice…..
If you must travel or go out in the evenings, that’s when the roaches also come out to feed themselves.
Having at least some sort of protection or a friend along with you is a deterrent and a wise thing.
A spray can handy in your pocket of Mace/Pepper gas also helps.

I do my business during the daytime, less chance of any issues.
