Middletown Police Investigate Fatal Crash On Veterans Highway

Shortly after 6:00 PM last night, Middletown Police were called to investigate a fatal accident on Veterans Highway, near New Falls Road. This was a two-vehicle crash with one of the vehicles overturned on its roof. The roads were snow and ice covered which almost certainly played a role in the causation of this crash.
Police said that a Genesis traveling south, lost control and struck a Range Rover which was in the northbound lanes. The Genesis then flipped onto it’s roof, trapping the driver and sole occupant of the vehicle. That driver was pronounced dead at the scene.
The area surrounding the crash was closed for investigation for several hours, as the coroner first had to arrive for the pronouncement. Identities of the drivers have not been released The driver and a passenger in the Range Rover sustained serious injuries and were taken to a hospital, police said.
Veterans Highway remained closed for at least four hours after the crash in the vicinity of the scene.
