Harrison Jones , 22, from Rockford Michigan will be a resident of Pennsylvania for the next 20-40 years, after he entered a no contest plea to six counts of attempted homicide and two counts of aggravated animal cruelty. He pleaded guilty to the remaining charges, including arson and risking catastrophe, stemming from the Feb. 10, 2025, fire.

Jones drove 700 miles because he was upset that his ex girlfriend was gong to Bensalem and was now dating a young man that lived inside the house on Merganser Way. Jones used a lock pick to break into the house and then spread an accelerate around the home before lighting it on fire.

Jones then drove back to Michigan, confident that he would never be fingered as the culprit. It took cops 36 hours to sift through his lies , as they viewed security cameras, examined license plate readers and tracked his vehicle as it came through PA to the house on Merganser Way. Jones at first claimed he was never in Pennsylvania. Video of him at a WAWA proved otherwise.

Jones will get no credit for time served and must also come up with more than half a million in restitution. The family was visibly upset, having two pet dogs die in the arson fire. The dogs first alerted the family to the fire.

Judge Matt Weintraub emphasized the calculated nature of the crime. He stated he was convinced that Jones’ actions were both planned and coordinated for several hours as he drove across several state lines to carry out the crime.
