Suspected Car Thief Gets Himself Shot and Arrested By Off Duty Sheriff Deputy

An alleged car thief is in the hospital after being shot multiple times overnight. Police said an off duty sheriff deputy saw the male attempting to steal a vehicle on the 7300 block of Bunting Place. Police said t was about 3:30 AM when this happened.
The sheriff deputy, who was off duty at the time, along with a family member were armed. Both opened fire on the suspect. It is unknown who struck the suspect.
The suspect was rushed via private vehicle to Presbyterian Medical Center, where he was taken into custody. He has not yet been officially charged so there is no mug shot and his name is not being released until charges are filed.
