Police have confirmed several facts about Ibrahim Kayumi, and Enir Balat, two Buck County residents who were arrested with an attempted terrorist bombing this month in New York City. When agents raided the properties where the two resided, one of Clymer Street and the other on Tina Drive in Newtown and Middletown, they found that the two had rente3d a storage unit on Flowers Mill Road. Several people were taken from the residences to speak with authorities. They were not arrested or charged with any wrongdoing, police said.
When agents searched that property, they found explosive materials inside the unit. That material was deemed too dangerous to transport, so it was blown up in three consecutive explosions overnight, which rocked the area. Agents dug a huge pit and set off the explosive material in the pits. All additional charges relating this this discovery will be filed by the US Attorney in the Southern District Of New York. They will not be charged locally.

A notebook was found that contained references to soft targets like shopping centers that have no security. Nothing was mentioned specifically. About the same time, video emerged of Balat buying about $7.00 worth of fuse at the Phantom Fireworks store in Penndel. That video is now part of the case against him. That fuse is used for legitimate purposes in addition to rigging fireworks displays like model rocketry.

Both Kayumi and Balat have been ordered held without bail and sit in a detention facility in New York. Video and photos have been made of the two igniting and throwing the homemade bombs in New York.
