Tree Mishap Causes Street Road Closure In Bensalem

A storm with pounding rain and strong wind gusts last night could be to blame for a tree that became uprooted and fell on Street Road, near Clive Avenue . Police said this happened about 4:30 AM.
The tree took down utility wires and is laying on top of same. These wire belong to Verizon and of 8:30 AM, they had yet to come out to deal with the issue. The tree is across all lanes of travel. It cannot be cut or removed until the utility wires are dealt with.
It is unknown if a vehicle struck the tree while it was down. Police were detailed to close Street Eoad between Clive and More Streets. It is unknown exactly how long the road will be closed for.
