City Managing Director, Adam Thiel Steps Down

Adam Thiel, was brought into the city a the Fire Commissioner under former Mayor James Kenney. Cherelle Parker promoted him at the start of her term as Managing Director. He oversaw city services and basically served as Mayor Parker’s right hand. He stepped down yesterday after about two years and six months in office.
Carlton Williams , who oversaw the Office Of Clean and Green Initiatives is taking over. The exact date of Thiel’s departure is being worked out. In a statement, Mayor Parker said he expects a “Warm hand off” to the position.
Presumably, Williams is being introduced to different city agencies that he will have direct control over. Williams is excited for his new position. Thiel will now concentrate on working in the private sector. He hails from Virginia and is unknown if he will relocate back there or continue to reside in Philadelphia.
Thiel, according to published reports earned a salary of over $300.000 per year and also worked on side projects in the public sector.
