Car and Body Found In River By Chester Waterfront

A car and body inside was found yesterday afternoon the could contain the body of Kortney Staples after her car was pulled from the river near a parking lot used by Subaru Park. Divers, who were searching the area found the submerged vehicle about 2:00 PM, authorities said.
The car , a Nissan with a missing side view mirror was pulled from the river and towed away. Staples was last seen July 11, 2026 . She was reported missing on July 18, 2026.
Officials speaking the condition of anonymity said that the body found inside the car is more likely than not of Staples. Her tattoos match . Investigators do not suspect foul play and they are working to determine why and how her vehicle wound up in the water.
At this point investigators do not ex[pect fould play. The parking lot near where the recovery operations was closed for the game yesterday.
