Male From Philly In “Chucky” Mask Arrested In Las Vegas

Zymire Hughes, the male who police said terrorized citizens in Philadelphia by running around wearing a mask similar to the “Chucky” character earlier this month has been arrested in Las Vegas.
Last night, about 8:00 PM the US Marshals picked him up after developing a tip that he was hiding in an apartment complex in South East Las Vegas. Hughes was spotted after a stakeout in the desert heat lasted several days.
He is in the Clark County Detention Center where he will await extradition back to Philadelphia. His charges include assault and threats. When he is brought back to Philadelphia, a judge will set his bail.
Hughes is accused of being the male that ran around center city asking people if they were “Ready To Die”. One woman fell while running away from him. Another woman kicked him. Hughes went from the Trenton Airport to Florida, then to Vegas, US Marshals said.
Hughes knew people in Vegas and according to Robert Clark, Supervisory Agent For the US Marshals, he was a resident of Vegas. Hughes was not cooperative, “We had to put him on the ground, he kept trying to get out of his handcuffs.Definitely not one of our most cooperative suspects,” Clark said.
