Annual Labor Day Celebration Held At Canstatters

It’s an annual tradition and this year proves to be even more popular than in the past several years. The Canstatters Labor Day celebration runs until 5:00PM on Labor Day. Held at the complex on Academy Road, near Frankford Avenue, there is an abundance of food and drink for everyone.

The price of gas is higher than it was in the last three of four years. That means some people are reluctant to travel to the shore or the Poconos. That is why this year Canstatters will be busier than in the past few years.

Steeped in German culture, inside, there are more vendors than in the past. From T shirts to homemade wooden signs. Some people are selling period clothing and Bavarian style hats.

This is a family friendly event . Children will get bored sitting around tables and talking. After about 30 minutes, they are rambunctious . However, they will be happy to spend hours at a carnival, riding things that spin around, or perhaps going up the giant slide. The carnival rides even have rides for adults and bigger kids. Before you know it, two hours have passed.

Food is plentiful. Hamburgers, chicken tenders and that sort of food is available for a quick bite. For something a bit more , the Fire Place will serve chicken platters, Ripchen, and lots of different foods served as platters.

The hack to this place is to get there early. Get your food first, before the lines. Same thing with ride tickets. By 2:00 PM lines start to grow and they grow quick. Save money and buy pitchers of beer or soda. It’s cheaper and it lasts longer.
