Pedestrian Struck On Woodbourne Road In Middletown

About 3:00 AM, emergency responders got a call for a person struck by a vehicle on Woodbourne Road, near Quincy Hollow. The striking vehicle was not at the scene. Police from Middletown and Bristol both were dispatched. Officers from Bristol Twp. found the vehicle, a Town and Country van about a quarter mile down the road, pulled into a gas station.
The driver appeared to be dazed . He was elderly and not certain of what was going on. The drivers side portion of the windshield was smashed and there was some damage to the hood of the vehicle, indicating where the person made contact with the van.
The van was going towards Bristol Township when the crash happened. It is unknown what direction the pedestrian was walking. Police said no charges would be filed until after their investigation, in any are warranted. That portion of Woodbourne Road is dark and the roadway was wet from an early morning rain.
Woodbourne Road was closed from Cobalt Ridge South through the entry to the municipal complex. The pedestrian was taken to St. Mary’s Hospital in serious condition, police said..
