Mother Takes Daughter Shoplifting In Southampton

When people shoplift, they know they are stealing and doing something wrong. When a child sees their parents do this, it is questionable. A child, who looks up to their parents always thinks their parents are doing the right thing. They may grow up to emulate their parents. They may grow up to think it’s okay to steal.
That is why Lower Southampton Twp. Police have arrested Shameka Brown this past week, after an investigation into two prior retail thefts that took place in the township some time ago.
On July 30 of this year, police said Brown allegedly proceeded to load a shopping cart with beverages and also concealed some alcoholic beverages within her saddle bag, pocketbook. After shopping she passed all points of sale and exited the store with her daughter without paying for any of the items.
This was not her first time stealing in the township, according to Lower Southampton Police. On October 09, 2024 a female, later identified as Shameka Brown went into the Giant located at 176 W. Street Road, Feasterville PA and shopped for seafood items. Brown then passed all points of sales and exited the store without paying for the food items. This incident was also captured on the stores video surveillance system.
She is charged with Retail theft and endangering the Welfare of a child, police said.
