Reporter Crosses The Line, Tries To Interview Fallen Police Officer’s Family

by Alex Lloyd Gross

Just hours after Shane Sieber was killed in West Philadelphia, a news reporter from an unnamed outlet presented themselves, uninvited at the home of the fallen officer, in an attempt to interview his family. That, according to a statement issued by the Fraternal Order Of Police.

By that time, the family probably has not finished notifying their extended family. They are numb and vulnerable. The last thing they want, or need is to be interviewed by the media. In the FOP statement, they called that stunt “completely unacceptable , disrespectful and insensitive”.

Respectable media would never do something like that. Should the family wish to speak, the media outlet will be contacted by the police, to advise them of the invitation.

Funeral arrangements for Sieber have not yet been announced. He was shot, allegedly by Eric Lewis, after police responded to an armed disturbance at 140 N 52nd Street. Lewis is alleged to have opened up a hail of bullets before barricading himself in the house.

Two officers were shot, the other officer went to the hospital and is expected to survive, authorities said.

  1. I agree, that some news reporters are dumb insensitive creeps with no common sense or regard for grieving families.
They act like vultures, hungry for some “fresh meat”.

In fact, a lot of stories in the media are annoying and questionable as well.
Besides those endless junk products and services advertizing, the media has gotten a lousy reputation on their own.

Every time another cop is shot dead breaks my heart.
I can only imagine what the families, and their brothers in the police force are feeling.
I know well of “the loss”, and how it must be respected.

Whoever that creep reporter is, should be fired, let them get a job in the kitchen of some McADonalds instead.
