by Alex Lloyd Gross
Philadelphia Police have arrested two males, during the night of October 26,2026. They were dumping hundreds of tires onto the parking lot of a train station on the 1400 block of West Indiana Ave. According to officers, the two, Charles Arttaway, 52, of Philadelphia and· Paul Gamble, 68, of Darby, Pennsylvania were charged with Criminal Mischief, Conspiracy and Scattering Rubbish.
According to police, the males used a U-Haul box truck to transport about 200-350 tires. It is unknown how they got the tires or if they owned a repair shop.
Preliminary findings indicate that Gamble rented and operated the U-Haul truck, while Arttaway was observed actively unloading tires onto the property.
Detectives assigned to the Environmental Crimes Unit are also investigating a possible connection to a separate illegal dumping incident involving the same U-Haul truck. Investigators are working to obtain additional surveillance footage as part of the ongoing investigation.
