Pedestrian struck by car in Bensalem

A pedestrian from Bensalem is in very serious condition after being hit by an SUV just before 12:30 PM today, on Knights Road,just south on Street Road. The police has an accident investigation team on scene to determine what happened. Dents on the hood of the SUV were observed. There is a bus stop across the street from where the crash happened as well as an apartment complex.
CPR was in progress to save the man, who is described as of Indian decent,in his 50’s . As cops arrived on scene, they only knew that he was in very serious condition. The driver of the SUV is being interviewed away from the scene. Knights Road is closed north from Dunksferry Rd. and will be for several hours until the investigation is concluded. Just after the accident happened, civilians gathered to try to help the man and in doing so, moved his shoes from their original position of rest. Bensalem Police are looking for any witnesses to this incident, either what happened or what happened just after the accident. (215) 633-3719 is the number to call.
