Crash Closes Driveway To Casino in Bensalem

The driveway to the Parx casino at  Mechanicsville Road in Bensalem  was closed to all traffic for several hours during Sunday night ,May 12 2019 due to a rollover accident involving one vehicle.

The crash happened just before 8:00 PM when the vehicle apparently. officials say, hit a speed bump at high speed and went out of control, turned onto it’s side after hitting several trees,

The location of the crash was on the drive way leading to the casino property, authorities said.

Police said there were no other vehicles involved. This car had a driver and passenger only, they said. One person was able to remove themselves from the vehicle, the other was trapped under the vehicle for about 15 minutes.

Firefighters from  Nottingham, Cornwells, Trevose and Eddington went in service with airbags to place under the car, so that other firefighters could free the trapped person.

Both occupants were rushed to Jefferson Hospital, Torresdale Division in serious condition, according to authorities on the scene.

Police have not determined who was driving. The driveway was closed for hours until an investigation could be completed and the vehicle towed from the scene.

The roads were wet at the time of  the accident.
